CINEVILLA FILM TOWN

Cinevilla is a unique tourist attraction offering extensive filming and entertainment opportunities. It is the only open-air film set in the Baltics and the largest in Northern Europe.

The film town is divided into three areas: The City – Riga; Suburb/Small Town – Pārdaugava; and Rūdolfa Farmstead.

The site has its own tram line and specializes in early 20th-century settings, including World War I and World War II. It also features two filming pavilions, a railway with a steam locomotive and carriages, a 60-metre-long platform, the Daugava River and three historic bridges, a church, and the Hotel Cinevilla.

ŠLOKENBEKA MANOR & WINE TASTING

The Šlokenbeka Manor complex is one of the few remaining examples of a fortified medieval manor in the Baltics and the only one in Latvia preserved to this day.

You will have the opportunity to taste wines from some of Kurzeme’s finest winemakers in one place.

The current selection includes wines from producers in Aizpute, Kuldīga, Durbe, and Lauciena. The selection changes regularly, making the tasting an interesting experience even for those who have visited before.

The tasting takes place in a 400-year-old manor cellar adapted for social events. You will learn about Kurzeme wines and their producers, the culture of wine tasting, and some interesting historical stories.

To complement the wine, cheese snacks will also be served. After the tasting, you can purchase wines for yourself or as an original gift for friends.

VALGUMA PASAULE

Enjoy an exciting and invigorating walk along the barefoot trail, a unique wellness experience designed to stimulate the senses.

The improved barefoot trail is approximately 2,900 metres long and features a variety of natural surfaces — pebbles and stones, boulders and millstones, moss, pine cones, seaside sand, reeds, wood chips, rough pine trunks, clay, and refreshing river water.

You may also experience soft grass after rain, moist peat beneath spruce trees, and gravel warmed by the sun. The richer the sensory experience for your feet, the greater the effect.

After the walk, you can enjoy a delicious meal at the Valguma Pasaule restaurant, swim in the lake, or take advantage of other activities and amenities.

LAKE KAŅIERIS & BIRD-WATCHING TOWER

The unique lagoon-type Lake Kaņieris is home to 14 islands and 237 bird species. Since 1989, it has been included in the list of Europe’s most important bird habitats.

The bird-watching tower offers panoramic views across the entire lake. Lake Kaņieris and its bird-watching tower are among the best bird-watching locations in the national park.

We recommend bringing binoculars to make the experience even more rewarding.

RAGACIEMS FISH MARKET

After visiting the bird-watching tower, we will head back to Riga, stopping in Ragaciems, where you will have the opportunity to purchase freshly smoked fish.

Take some home to enjoy with your loved ones in the evening while sharing memories of a wonderful day.
